The Historic Decatur Association formed in 2016 as a 501c3 non-profit organization, comprised of an equal number of board members from Old Decatur and Albany, the two historic districts of Decatur, Alabama, and one “at large” member who does not live in one of the historic neighborhoods.
Our goals are to preserve the historic character of the neighborhoods, to replace the tree canopy as many of our magnificent old oaks and maples are reaching their end of life, and to foster social connections between the neighborhood members.
A yearly membership fee of $25 helps us reach our goals. All membership fees and donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
